Wednesday 4th June. Delaware, Ohio.
Oh, it's soo lovely to be in a home, especially this one with Tom and Paula and their daughter, Kate and her family nearby. They are a delightful family and I love their company. We sat out last night eating mustard pretzels and talking till 10pm!! But we had a sleep in today and a leisurely breakfast as it was to be a very hot day, in the 30s. We did go to sketchers as I needed to replace my sandals. They had a special, buy 1 and get the second half price. So got 2 pairs. You could go silly there as half the price of them in Oz!!
We then went in to Columbus to visit a gallery that was showing some beaded art work by a friend of theirs. One of the butterfly's is going into the Smithsonian for a year. We then walked down to a special tea shop for a cuppa and cake then back to pick up pizza and cookies for dinner at Kate and Nates. Paula, Tom and I love being with their grandchildren but we think the best part of being grandparents is heading out the door and leaving them with their parents!!! We're home again now and Paula is putting in some plants. She has a lovely garden. And tomorrow it should be cooler so we may go for a bike ride,
A sweeping lawn garden. Do they have deer visiting? I like the cobbled streets in Delaware and the support for public art. Most impressive beaded work. Lots of patience and good eyes required! All sounds fun…and warm🌞
ReplyDeleteLovely and green. Enjoy your special visit.
ReplyDeleteLove those butterflies. I remember Paula’s lovely garden from a previous visit. Does she still have those amazing hostas?
