Tuesday 17th June. 2025. Touring London on the hop on hop off bus.
Got up for a delicious cooked breakfast and then walked to Boots to get Cold and Flu tablets as well as nasal spray. Got back and promptly went back to bed. Full of a head cold so stayed in bed till around 2. Feeling a little better so got on a toot bus. I stayed on the whole way for about 3 hours and I can use it tomorrow too. London was looking very bright and clean in the sunshine. Bunting up, green gardens and flowers in baskets and pots everywhere. And the traffic was horrendous. I'm surprised they let all these buses in the streets.
When I got back I wanted a tube map, but none to be found. The hotel man showed me an app that was well worth downloading so I should be right tomorrow getting to an art show called Frameless, near Marble Arch. Kim suggested it and it sounds a little like Lume.
Attic room: possibly where they will pop me too.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the head cold, that's a pain. Judy and I had a head cold/ sinus thing in China and used a ton of tissues. At least you saw the important Order of the Garter celebration.
I'm relying on you to find all the places I "need" to visit.
Still cold here, but not frigid, this morning.
Looks like you have a little less than a week to go? Enjoy.
Your room looks bigger than mine was but the view is familiar. There’s a nice Turkish restaurant between the hotel and Paddington Station, at the far end of that park. It had the best food I found in that area.
ReplyDeleteDamn a head cold. Thank goodness you could rest and were not on the bike. The Garter day was most impressive. Fancy having access to that viewing location. Sun is always uplifting and the HOHO option did not entail lots of energy. Visit St James Park for me. Always gives me a buzz. We have spent some full days at Torquay before ending at Bendigo. Loving our break from the norm.
ReplyDeleteGreat timing for your visit- looks fantastic
