Friday 13th June 2025. Salen tp Tobamory on the Isle of Mull.
Another 50 plus km ride today with a picnic at Calgary Beach, where I had a swim!! A bit of a head wind, but not as bad as yesterday and although overcast it was reasonably warm. Again green fields and water and little waterfalls everywhere. It really is a beautiful country. The roads we cycle on are narrow and we often have to get over for passing cars, trucks and buses. We got to Calgary and Nancy and I put on our bathers and walked in. It's was very cold and it really did take my breathe away. But when you got out you were warm. Changing was fun but we managed then back to the coffee house for our picnic lunch and hot chocolate to warm me up.
Leaving there we went back to our turn off and headed to Tobamoray. Very steep hills so into Turbo to get up and then downhill into town. Beautiful town on the water and we could see our boat so headed for home. Tonight we're out to dinner and I'm trying the local prawns, langoustines they call them. Hard to believe we're off on our last ride tomorrow!!
You still look frozen coming out of that water. Love the little villages.
ReplyDeletePicked up Susan and Teagan from the airport. 1C here, so lots of frost on the ground when we came home the "back way". Teagan saw three kangaroos in the paddocks. The sun is shining, but still cold outside. I need a sleep. I had to get up extra early to get to the airport.
Enjoy your last ride.
A truly beautiful ride. Don’t mention hills….you have an e-bike!! However, brownie points for going into that water. You are definitely a water baby😄 Love the aperitif locations. Soak up your last day. xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the colourful buildings in Tobermory. A picture postcard village. The ride looks green and interesting as always. Have very much enjoyed “ coming along” with you. Hope the last day is the best.
