Monday 26th May, 2025. The Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

A lovely sleep in this morning and then off to find some breakfast.  I'd had Genevieve's recommended so found it and not too busy. Bacon and eggs, no tea on the menu but had the most delicious hot chocolate. I sat up at the bar again to watch everyone working. Before I got there I attended the Memorial day service in the Gardens and bought a poppy. The guy who played the bugle was great and I told him so.

After breakfast I checked out some stores and bought a hat and t shirt. Found out why it's called Jackson Hole,  because Jackson is in the hole between the mountains and valley. Sat in the sun to wait for my tour. Bus picked me up right on time and as the last pick up I got the front seat. Found out the Kudar has been sold for millions and will be knocked down.

Off to the Tetons. We did a circuit over 4 hours and saw them from every angle. A perfect day for it and every mountain is a different shape. They really are amazing to see. We saw wild life, bison and pronghorns but no moose or bears. We passed Snake River many times and hopefully  not too fast tomorrow.  My fellow travellers slowly got off and I was last. An early start tomorrow for the rafting and have to walk there. Thanks Kaz and Rutts for your responses to the blog. I'm sure others are reading, just can't reply.

  1. I can see why they’re “grand”. Those are some decidedly impressive mountains. Lovely photos Smith and a really good day’s sightseeing.
