Friday 30th May, 2025. Belton, Montana.
Cheers Brian!! Here I am at the Chalet restaurant last night, toasting Brian with a margarita and eating a Bison meatloaf and Huckleberry sorbet for dessert.
I had a glorious sleep in, got up and got myself a cuppa and went back to bed. Ahhh. Finally thought it time to get up and walked down to the Highland restaurant beside the gas station for breakfast. Delicious eggs and sausage and French toast, all on one plate. Savoury and sweet on one plate. I added syrup to the toast after my egg and then discovered that what I thought was ice cream was actually butter. All delicious. I came home for a cuppa and ensured Sydney was still able to take me to the bus pick up for the road to the sun. Yep all set. She drove me there and we chatted. I wasn't sure how to get back but thought I'd ask the driver to drop me at Agpar tourist centre which isn't too far from the Belton. The red buses were great. Roof off and great commentary from Gil. We couldn't do the whole of the road to the sun as it doesn't open until June. Not as much snow but the mountains just rise up alongside the road. Beautiful rapids and Lake MacDonald. Lots of tourists and bikes around. Not as much snow as the Tetons, but the walks through the cedar forests was beautiful. I asked Gill for a drop off at Agpar but he said he was nearly passing the Belton so would drop me off at the village.
He and I chatted and once dropped off I went and got a BLT and a real milk shake(not a thick shake) I'm back now at the Chalet and a taxi is picking me up at 8am to take me to the airport to fly to Denver then onto Laramie!! Ripper trip Brian!!
Ripper weather to see some beautiful sights. You needed walks to utilise your energy boosts🤣 Is that the Chalet foyer? Very atmospheric. I can imagine it buzzing during the snow season. Another super day.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful mountains and a very cold looking river. A very nice place for a walk. Well done Smith and Brian.
ReplyDeleteI think I've been there.
