Friday 23rd May 2025. Laramie, Wyoming. Last day of COST.
Yes the last day of the COST conference. I always find it a little sad as my COST friends are very unique and I adore their company and professionalism. Quite a family really. And next year we'll meet in Thessaloniki, Greece!!
So a short walk to our new meeting room. Then back for a packed lunch and off to the dude ranch. The V ranch. No horse riding but we watched the riders practise barrel racing and lassoeing the cows. We then went back to the ranch for a hay ride, minus the hay and a practise lassoing. It's much harder than it looks but I finally mastered the swing over my head but missed the wooden cow!! A great place to visit, and you can go there to stay and ride horses and relax. A beautiful homestead. This home had lots of trees around as the river ran thru it but where there is no water you have the prairies and nothing grows.
We then went up into the mountains about 30 mins away and here was snow. The temperature plummeted, snow everywhere and it gets harder to breathe. Laramie is high and you need to drink lots of water and my nose is soooo dry, but up there I was really feeling it!! I was in Bermuda's and sandals in the snow!!! Fantastic views. Back down to Centenial for an ice cream and home. Tonight we're off to the Rib and Chop!!
What a truly unique and beautiful location. Spring and winter 30 minutes apart. The perks of being Dr Connell…Thessaloniki will be lovely☀️
ReplyDeleteQuite a last day! A real dude ranch. How do they define the word “dude”? I think the meaning has changed. Love the snow in sandals.
