Thursday 23rd May. Train to Paris, flight to Istanbul transfer to Bodrum and finally taxi to hotel.

Left Melba at 6.40am for an Uber pick up. Fond farewells to Deb and Mark who scurried back to bed. Meanwhile Eric drove me to the Strasbourg station in his Tesla.  Very nice. Waited for my platform number and onto a train that became very crowded. Once into CDG Paris the escalators weren't working so long queues waiting for the lift. Finally found my check in. Very early so had to wait then thru and into lounge. Very nice lounge and delicious food. Lots of French cheeses!@ Bloody gate change but all good. Nice business class on Turkey airways but poor design. In pairs but the TV screen is so far away I didn't bother looking for a movie. I read and snoozed

Arrived in Istanbul and this airport  is HUGE!! I asked a girl in the carts for old people and she offered to drive me where I needed to go. Very helpful.  Everyone is and I was greatly impressed by the French this year. English is spoken and written everywhere under the French and lots of people to help. All in readiness for the Olympi
ics.  So off again to Bodrum.  Arrived and still no border control or customs.  I still haven't  shown my visa. The taxi man didn't  think I needed one. No Ubers in Turkey!! Vehicle dropped me off after a very long drive to my hotel

Cleared my out of Euros, a job for tomorrow. My hotel is delightful and once I sorted out costs, I thought I'd paid but I only reserved!! I've had a shower and now ready for bed. Long day but I'm here!!
