Sunday 12th May, downtown Nashville.

An early start as lots to see and do. So an user into downturn to the Country and Western Hall of Fame.  Again so much to see and experience.  Interesting that some of the early history I knew such as the songs Oh Susanna and early singers like Roy Rogers. While C and Ws home was Nashville it also moved to the west to LA. Some great old movie like,C and W hour and the Johnny Cash show. Then we got to see a special performance by a trio of session players. Sam Hunter was the leader and he can make a living from session playing and composing.

From there we walked to the Ryman Theatre that used to be the  Old Oprey.  We passed Broadway Street that was absolutely jumping with bars, bands, bike bars up the street etc. The Ryman Theatre was originally a tabernacle and went onto become a wonderful performing venue. It's acoustics and close audience made it a favourite place for performers. After sightseeing for hours we headed to a late lunch where I had the Nashville special, Mac and cheese with fried chicken on the top!! An ice cream finished it off as we walked down Broadway. And it was still jumping. Music was coming out of every venue, C and W of course. Another of it seems all the same to me but one group in a bar we went into had a woman playing the fiddle with the guitars and she was great. While we sat there we heard two different bands. Home in another user after 6000 steps!!!

  1. What a very C & W day you had. Couldn’t be anywhere but Nashville. How are the Southern accents?
