Friday 24th May. The Manzara Hotel. Bodrum.

The cry to the faithful woke around 4 this morning  but went back to sleep. I eventually got up and enjoyed  my delightful room overlooking  the Port. In daylight I could see clearly the blue ocean, big cruise ship and mobs of other smaller boats/ships. I'd sent an email off last night night letting bike and boat I'd arrived etc. Got a reply to say a taxi would pick me up at 2pm tomorrow and they would pay and drop me at the Admiral for the start of the bike trip. Soo efficient. Meanwhile I eventually found my way  to break. It quite a beautiful rabbit warren. Beautiful breakfast, even an omelet, fruit galore and the cuppa required some wrangling but eventually all was in order. The scenery is simply spectacular while sitting eating breakfast.  I headed into town as I needed an atmosphere. Found them and found one that only took €2 to give out €. One wanted €25!!! I then had money for some serious  souvenir shopping. I got a bit weary so time for a lemon sorbet and sit beside the sea!!!

The trip to this tourist area was all downhill  so hard work back uphill. The sellers change from Turkish lire to euros effortlessly and everyone is so friendly and kind. I never felt I was being conned. It appears the tourist season is only just starting so not so many people yet. But I've met lots of English, some ultra fit Americans who have no bums to support them on their bike ride....a different one to me. I had a nap, rejigged my case again, getting my bike stuff ready. I'm leaving behind what I wore all day yesterday (Giulia and Chris will be sooo pleased))  I got dolled up tonight, put on my new ear rings and necklace and went off to dinner. Ahhh what a life. Gentle breeze, beautiful views and being waited on!!! I know a hamburger but I was starving and had enough authentic Turkish food on the plane trips. I chatted to a lovely UK couple over dinner and met another Windsor  lady beside the pool. Yep I had a swim after I got back from climbing up the hills. Snoozed by the pool, did wordle etc and napped. Very relaxing and I'm so glad I gave myself the extra day here.

Hopefully  I've done a better job of the order of photos today. Yesterday's were all over the place, sorry I was a tad weary.

  2. Stunning! I'm envious but Borneo is not far away. I spotted some boganvillia on a building too. What a life!
