Wednesday 10th May. Cabanas and Tavira Portugal.
Another beautiful day in sunny Portugal. After breaky, Marianne suggested a little walk around Cabanas, which is fairly close to them but closer to the sea. JO dropped us off and we walked through main roads with beautiful apartments and then down little cobblestone streets. The peak season will be around June and hard to believe this area will soon my jumping with oldies from the UK, France, Sweden and the US. Already I heard different languages. And golf is a really big thing here. Some come for a week, others for 3 months. It is a very popular area and tourism is a major industry.
After a shandy by the boardwalk we headed back to a restaurant that Marianne and JO recommended. JO joined us and the mixed grill was delicious. Accompanied of course by my fruit drink....sangria!! A drive back, then a walk to friends for a swim in their pool then a trip to a typical Portuguese bar where many were playing boules. I've managed to pack my case and tomorrow I head off to Lisbon, Zurich and then Dubrovnik. The time has gone so quickly but hopefully Marianne and JO will come to Australia soon. They are wonderful friends.
We are all jealous of your weather. Still miserable here.
ReplyDeleteWho is your new friend? Bit of a concern. Looks like too many sangrias?
Two glorious days. Seems idyllic. Reliable warm weather has great appeal. Soon time for you to ride off these days of good food and wine. I did laugh, Anne!!
