Sunday 7th May. On the beach at Manga, Tavira.
A sleep in then up to get ready for the beach. I put a load of washing on and we packed the food and drinks into the car. We drove around to Marianne and Jo's friends place. They used to work for them in the golf business. Golfing is very big business here. Two other friends joined us and we were , German, English, swedish and aussie. So fortunately English was spoken. We left from the family's place as they knew the way to get to the beach. The family had 2 gorgeous girls who go to an international school and speak 4 languages and they are only in primary school.
The beach was lovely, lots of sand, cool breeze and sun. Everyone brought food which was very tasty and wine , beer and aperol cocktails was also available. I went for a walk a long the beach and found the swim flags and life guards, plus a hotel's lounge area. I came back and had a swim and watched all the kite riders learning and skimming across the water. I played beach tennis with the girls and had a beautiful beach day. I'm now showered and in my pjs!!! Lovely being with Marianne and JO again.
No crowds on that beach! Not much shelter from the sun. Hope you didn’t get cooked.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a holiday day! The casualness of Spain and good food. How I envy the opportunity Europeans have to avail themselves of multi-language learning. Love the photos. They paint a true picture of what you are doing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Portugal. Enjoy. Currently 8 C outside with rain.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great beach.
