1st November. Windsor, London and Hamilton.
Leisurely start to the day as Poppys 18th birthday. Brunch was at a restaurant near Ascot race course. 8 of her girlfriends from school were there to help her celebrate. All delightful young girls who chatted on and seemed to be having a great time. We sat with the proud parents. Back home and Jude and I headed into London on the train. I love the tube and brought us out at Piccadilly. We wandered around taking in the famous sights then caught a bus to Victoria station where the show Hamilton was on. We grabbed some soup and fruit then got our tickets. Very strict security and once in no going out. Good seats, packed and boy what a show. Whole story in song like an opera but in rap. Very clever and tingles often up my spine. We'd read up on the story so knew what it was about but every word was clear. It was exhausting listening to it all tho. We caught the bus back, then train but the train stopped at Slough and no more trains to Windsor!!! Fortunately we were able to share a taxi back to Windsor station then walk the short distance home. Kim and Jeff met us in their street so we had a cuppa and now in bed.
I loved Hamilton. Who would ever thought a history lesson as a musical. Glad you got to see it.
ReplyDeleteHope you managed to get cheap seats
