22nd October. Sailed to the west bank to the Valley of the kings.

Some got up very early for a balloon ride. I decided against it...health and safety doesn't  exist  here, also have been very tired after very big days and turned out they couldn't  go over the Valley of the Kings as there was security for a performance  of Aida.  Again very hot, but a clear heat and Anjab always makes sure we are in the shade when he talks to us. So this is where the tombs of the pharaohs  are. And they are still searching for more. The most famous of course is King Tutankhamun as his wasn't  robbed. Mobs of people again and crowds  in the tombs that become stifling  hot. Fascinating  again.

On the way back we stopped to see these two statues of Memnon that have been knocked over in part by earthquakes.

We then went onto Queen Hatshepsuts temple. Finally a woman. Man's world here, past and present. UNESCO worked to rebuild this.

We then drove to an alabaster place where I could again  use my credit card!!!

Then a swim and relax on our boat before a delicious  dinner. What a life.
