20th October. Museum in Cairo
Finally back on wifi. Amazing how you can manage without it for a week!!! Hopefully I can remember what we have done. We really are having a wonderful time. Everyone in the group, all Aussies are fantastic. A great bunch. And Anjab our guide is so passionate and knowledgeable.
So off through the crowded streets, terrible traffic, dusty and lots of run down incomplete buildings. That way they don't have to pay taxes until completed.
The museum. Still the old one although moving across slowly to the new one. The mummies, the huge statues and of course Tutankhamun were wonderful. We spent hours wandering through with Anjab explaining everything.

Then onto Ali Mahmoud mosque with panoramic views of Cairo. My first mosque visit and very interesting. We take our shoes off as we go in and a very large area.
Wow - what a wonderful experience!
