Epmionh, Greece, Day 35. May 13.
Early breaky and on our bikes riding by 9. 40kms today and lots of hills again. We first sailed to the mainland on the ferry and then rode. Again beautiful scenery and thank goodness for the ebike. Mind you I probably wore out the brakes going down hill as very steep. Lots of olive trees, lemon trees and goats and sheep and again the lovely wild flowers.
Our route has changed a bit due to concerns with wind and storms but who cares it's still an amazing trip. We met our sailing boat on the other side at Epminoh and staggered on for lunch. All a tad weary so good to have finished. Lunch was incredible. Fried feta with honey, fried chicken wings and Greek salad, that just for entre and then stuffed egg plant. Baklava for dessert. Delicious esp after 40kms.
Just had a walk around town with 2 other girls from Maryland. Great bunch of people from all walks of life and countries. The flags on our boat denote the occupants, german(tour guide, Tina), swiss, 2 couples, Spain, one guy, US, 8 people and me the only one from Oz. They are all delightful and am enjoying their company immensely.
This town is lovely and again off the tourist track. We will eat out again this evening and there are many places to choose from. The US group, from Indiana and Maryland are keen to play bridge again tonight so we will have 2 groups. Some of the men are keen to score!!!
