Tavira, Portugal. Day 15. 23rd April.

A leisurely start to the day. Breaky on the balcony and rain. Cooler but lovely sitting chatting. Eventually dressed and JO drove us to Santa Lucia a lovely seaside resort. There was a little train to take us out past the marshes to the Atlantic sea. The rain came again and very chilly. Thank goodness for my jacket.  We went into the coffee shop to warm up with coffee and hot chocolate.  The sun came out so we checked out the anchor graveyard.

They used to fish tuna here and used the anchors to keep the nets down, then one day, no tuna. They think an under the sea earthquake changed the currents and so the tuna.

Beautiful  sandy beaches and lots of shells. I tried the Atlantic and not too cold. Beaches were very quiet  but was told it will be teeming  with people when summer comes, mainly Spanish, French, Brits and swedes.

Back on the train and off to the supermarket.  Home again and Marianne  cooked delicious fish soup with shrimp and garlic bread. Fresh strawberries  to finish.
