Tavira, Portugal. Day 14. 22nd April.
Ah, a beautiful sleep in, washed my clothes and my hair and sat on the balcony for breaky. Ah the life.
Marianne and JO s place, my room, view of orange trees outside and balcony
Marianne and I then walked into the centre of town. Beautiful weather and a great place. Very much a tourist destination, but I'm here just before summer begins.
We walked the mosaic streets, beautiful doors and tiled fronts of houses to the river. We are close to the sea and very close to the Spanish border.
We explored many little shops. Portugal is famous for its cork, linen and they eat lots of chicken but not sure why the cockerel is used as a symbol.
I tried the famous Portuguese tart and the thick hot chocolate. By the afternoon the cool wind comes from the Atlantic.
Tonight we went to dinner with John a friend of Jo's and had sangria, muscles and salmon. Delicious. Having a ball.
That dinner sounds delicious
