Athens, Georgia. Day 6. 14th April.
Off early this morning for the 3+ hours drive to Athens. Very wet and overcast but again green field and lots of trees. Lots of pecans grown around this area. Arrived in Athens. Very much a Uni town. Big campus and lots of accomodation for students. Beautiful brick buildings and a great little town.
We had lunch at a diner. Love them as good cheap food. Then Tom and Paula dropped me off at the hotel where the conference is being held. Said a f9nd, sag farewell to them as they headed off for another 5 hour drive to see friends.
I got to my room, then went for a walk. Dressed ready for the reception and always great meeting my friends again. Hugs all around and catching up on news. A lovely light dinner and then a few of us decided to kick on in the bar. So had a margherita as so cheap here and we compared southern and oz and NZ slang. Lots of fun.
Early start in the morning so better hit the sack!!! Y'all have a good night.

ReplyDeleteRutts says hello. She can read your blog, but for some reason it won't let her comment. So she is NOT ignoring you, just getting cranky about trying to solve the issue.
Lucky you to have such a network of friends...everywhere!!! You can keep your margaritas. Rutts prefers Bellinis. What's with the slobby bulldog? k
