Day 30. Hoorn.

We met Hans sister at the train station and headed to Hoorn for a family birthday. Hiss, Hans brother in law was having a party so 6 of Hans family met. 3 girls and 3 boys plus spouses. One brother is still working so couldnt come. Not surprisingly they were a delightful lot and food just kept coming all day. Cake and coffee/tea to start, then nibbles, more nibbles, drinks of course, deep fried cheeses and meats, then chinese from a local take away, ice cream and coffee and tea again. I rolled home. Many of them spoke English and of course Hans always made sure to keep me informed of the conversation. They were delightful and the house and garden was beautiful. Friends and family dropped in and everyone was so welcoming. Back home on the train and a last look at the dutch countryside. Flat with lots of farming, cows and sheep and the lake in the distance kept out by the dykes. Home again and packing ready for my flights tomorrow. Amsterdam to London, then Qantas to Perth.
