Day 2. Bike ride to Nelsonville.

Woke early after a lovely sleep and read a bit. Met Jack and Sherie for breaky and more catching up! I then rang a rent a bike store and they delivered the bike, helmet and lock and off I went on the bike track. 12 years when I did this the trees were all bare as it was still winter. This time its spring, the trees are all green and there is the smell of blossoms in the air. As I rode along the nice flat track with the Hocking river by my side I felt like I was in a Disney movie. The birds and butterflies flew beside me or called from the trees, the bluebells were everywhere andcI expected to see Bam i appear at any moment. It really was beautiful. I passed old mining towns and even saw a school bus from Crooksville, and we thought Dripstone school was badly named. Arrived in Nelsonville and looked around then went to the same cafe, but no pie anymore so a lovely smoothie and cookie surficed. Going back the same way I resorted to sitting on my jacket as my bum was killing me. Did 24 miles round trip.
Riding back along the bridge to be met by my COST mates from Merida in Mexico.
Drinks and nibbles tonight as a sort of reception for the conference. Lots of new faces but great to see the 'old` ones!!!
Much chatting and catching up and by 10 finally time for bed. Early start in the morning.
