Day7 and 8 Williams, Grand Canyon, and Monument Valley in Utah.
Sorry for the break but no wifi in Grand Canyon, or rather very poor. So we took off from Seligam on Route 66 to Williams our last stop before going off 66 to view some amazing places. Williams was great with so many sights of Route 66, Santa Fe trains, old diners and memorabilia galore. Lunch at a recommened diner which was lovely. Then onto the Grand Canyon. We seemed to come in a different way to the bus trip 6 years ago. Checked into our room, did our laundry and drove to the visitors centre to view sunset on the rim. It really does take your breath away, the size and the silence, mind you lots of tourists chatting.
Home for an early night as up for sunrise at 5.30am at the same spot. Glorious. Then Brian and I head3d off in different directions to spend the day exploring. I walked nearly the whole rom, about 5 miles. I did it leisurly and stopped and ate my fruit while overlooking the canyon, wow, what a life. Brian did some bus trips then a few drinks at the tavern. I finally got back very tired and fell asleep very quickly.
Up in the morning to head here. Travelled along the canyon with some great views from thecar, roof down. Then into Utah and as we got closer the land almost inverts and now we have amazing hills, buues and messas. Checked in and Brian has outdone himself, we have a 2 bedroom cabin, lovely. Shuttle picked us up to take the open air bus that drove us 3 hours around the Monument Valley. This is a Navajo reservation, so our Navajo guide gave us all the info on the names given to the messas and we even saw into their homes. Wonderful. Finished off with dinner at the restaurant where Brian demolished half a cow. Wonderful sights and Brian has planned some wanderings off Route 66 for the next couple of days. He really has planned some wonderful sights to see.
I suspect I may have to put the photos on a separate blog!!!

Thought you might have hit a no signal area. Monument Valley is one of my most favourite places. Glad you have found some special stops along the way. XXX
