Day 21. Oklahoma City. Oklahoma.

A very lazy day, something we were both ready for and in our own apartment it was very easy to do. So we started with lots of cuppas, yep without the coffee taste as we had a kettle and just lazing around. After all Brian's driving he needed a breather.
We headed to the National Cowboy and Western museum. An amazing building with beautiful sculptures and lots of interesting history. A docent filled us in that Oklahoma was a territory during the civil war and mainly an American Indian reservation so no slaves and therefore not much interest in the civil war. However this is where cowboys and indians came to life on the silver screen, rodeos were popular and women helped tame the west and the men.
We then went onto the memorial for the Oklahoma bombing. A beautiful garden and seats representing the 160 killed. Little seats for the children. There was a museum available at a charge of $15. Brian went in, but I felt uncomfortable with a museum.
We just finished dinner, beautiful tacos and sweet potato fries and a shandy, yum. Still 34, but dry. Oh also saw part of the eclipse when lent the special glases.
We leave this lovely city for Claremore tomorrow, on the road again!!!

  1. Look out for corn. They say it's as high as an elephant's eye.
