Day 20. Elk and lots of little towns into Oaklahoma city, Oaklahoma.

Good rest in our little motel on Route 66 so up and on the road again and into Oaklahoma without much fanfare, not even a road sign. Lots of little towns along the way of varying size and interest. Elk was delightful and had a great museum/old town that you could wander around. As it is Sunday lots of things were closed but still fascinating seeing the different towns. Lovely rolling hills now, again with lots of wind farms and cotton growing and of course beef roaming in the heat. Very green but again 35, so no hood down.
Brian finds all the littke sights along the way and has the history of them as well, a true bus driver.
Into a city is always tricky as we have to get on the freeways and navigate through spaghetti junctions, racing cars and trucks. My knuckles are white as I grip the car door handles!!  Fortunately Brians tom tom gets us there. Our airb&b for the next 2 nights is a loft and all to ourselves. Very big, separate bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. Very nice. Liv the owner bought around a light, we have found that many of the places we stay in dont have lights that work?!
Brian has headed off to see another sight while Im staying put, then off for dinner. Tomorrow we stay put!!!

  1. Good to see that they're putting in wind farms. Are you keeping score of the number of Route 66 signs? There must be a million!
