Day 16. Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Madrid.

Up bright and early to head to our balloon ride. A bit tricky to begin with as they didnt seem to have our reservation. All turned out ok and up up we went. Wow, amazing feeling, so quiet and peaceful and views. Murray our pilot was exceptional. We even touched the river then up again. And landed so smoothly. Champers and orange juice and cakes for breaky. A wonderful trip. On to Santa Fe which is actually the capital of New Mexico. We walked around ourselves checking out what interested us. I walked to the 9laza, church, Loretto hotel, Capitol building and generally admired the vibe of the place the wonderful architecture and glorious weather. Did some shopping and found a place selling gelato, yum. It reminded me very much of Merida in Mexico. Brian and I met up again and headed to our Airb& b via an old train station where they were shooting a very low budget western!! The smell of odd smoke had us leaving. Madrid where our Airb&b was used to be an old mining town and now rejuvenated by artists. And Wild Hogs the movie was filmed up the street and the diner was made for the movie. Our rooms are lovely and a couple originally from Brazil are with us as well. Great little place. Just finished a lovely goats cheese sald!!
