Day 12 Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona and the Verde Canyon Railway

A delightful stay in Flagstaff with homemade  bagels for breaky and a real jug to boil water for a cup of tea. Off through the Oak Creek canyon with beautiful green trees along a river, the smell of pine, more huge escarpments, just beautiful. And lots of campers in the forests by the creek. Came out at Sedona, very flash, reminded me of Airlie beach, without the beach. Lots of money here. Brian had researche a church built at the top of rocks overlook8ng Sedona. Amazing architecture.
Then onto Clarkvale to the railway that would take us along the Verde River. Getting warmer, so roof up and onto the train. It was a lovely old train, with aircon inside, snacks provided and drinks to buy. I had a prickly pear margharita. Great views along the canyon of the river, caves and views again.
We got back about 4..30 and headed into a huge rainstorm as we tried to get to our Airb&b. Oh boy, water across the roads, lightening, poor visability and as we nearly came to blows with the stress of finding our way we arrived, the rain stopped and safe inside. Its called Laake Montazuma, but despite the rain I dont see a lake!!!
