Day 10 and 11. Parks, Moki Dugway, Mexican Hat and Flagstaff.

Last nights wifi was just too slow at Mexican Hat I had to wait till today at Flagstaff. We are definitely back in civilisation after detouring from Route 66 to see the most amaz8ng land forms. Every corner you turn there is something different, the country side is truely incredible. Large messas, then huge canyons with the San Juan River carving valleys out, then sandstone bridges made by streams and wind. It just keeps going on and on. So from the Bridges Park we went down a very steep escarpment called the Moki Dugway to get to another level. Gravel road, hairpin turns and steep. Truck originally did this!! Again a very hot, dry dusty day. We put the roof down in the morning then up in the hot arvo with the aircon up high!! Arrived at Mexican Hat, a rock formation looks like a sombrero, hence the name. Into our warm yurt, then down to the Swinging steak bar for dinner. Yep they swing the steaks over a fire to cook. Delicious meat.
Off this morning and roof up early as a bit of rain and now at a lovely Airb&b in Flahstaff. Tomorrow we return to Route66 and drive on.
